Screenplay meetup
Welcome to my Screenwriter's Meetup Group!
Once a month I will host a group of up to 6 screenwriters that are looking to submit and receive feedback on their script. I have run these meetups from time to time for close to 20 years in both NY and here in GA.

HOW IT WORKS:
It's pretty simple.
Once a month, I will host the meeting at a public place. I live in Alpharetta, so I've usually run it at Panera or Starbucks off North Point Pkwy in Alpharetta, right across from North Point Mall - Exit 9 off Highway 400.
Each screenwriter will click below to sign up and when I get to 6 people attending for that given month, I will close that sign-up and put those writers on a group email. We will then email the group up to 30 pages of each writer's own script.
Screenplays roughly equate to a page equaling a minute of screen time. So a 90 minute movie is around 90 pages. Screenplays are broken into 3 Acts, with each Act equaling about 30 pages. This allows each attendee to have both material to critique and material of their own to be critiqued. You are welcome to print out copies to hand the other readers of your critique or you can email your notes after the meeting, but each person will have the opportunity to hear all critique of their submission before we move on to the next writer. In all, this usually takes 2 to 2 and a half hours.
HOW TO CRITIQUE:
While it is helpful to point out every typo and punctuation in your notes, we will not spend time during the reviews talking about that. That is best for the writer to review later at home. The valuable critique points are about structure, character development, plot points, flow and the plight/resolve of the Protagonist as well as the Antagonist. Since we are only submitting up to 30 pages at a time, you obviously will not get a full picture in your mind of the whole script. This is OK. Each act needs to stand on its own. Usually, writers return every month and submit the next act and others remember it or we always offer a prior act to read ahead of time, if desired by the submitting writer.
Look forward to meeting!
